Did you know that disc golf is one of the fastest-growing outdoor sports? Similar to ball golf, the ultimate goal of disc golf is to complete each hole in as few throws as possible. The same terms that are used in ball golf such as course, hole, par, bogey, and birdie, are also used in disc golf.
Much like ball golf, disc golf holes each have a set par. Each disc golf hole starts with a tee area and the hole is completed once the disc lands in the disc-catching basket. Disc golf can be played with one disc or many discs, as each disc is designed to fly with different characteristics.
At this time, Flagler County does not have a permanent disc golf course. Several community members who love the sport of disc golf have formed a club that will meet monthly at local parks. The goal of the club is to set up a 9 hole course with portable disc golf baskets for a few rounds of disc golf.
