December 13, 2022 – The Flagler County Board of County Commissioners have selected committee assignments for the 2022-23 fiscal year and are prepared to get to work.

Committee assignments to these important boards provide Flagler County commissioners with community input, expertise, and diverse viewpoints that help the Board of County Commissioners make informed decisions.

Flagler County Commission Chair Greg Hansen will serve on the following committees: Florida Agricultural Museum Board; Friends of A1A Scenic and Historic Coastal Byways Group; A1A Scenic Pride; Management Advisory Group for GTMNERR; Small County Coalition; Town of Marineland CRA Board; and the Value Adjustment Board.

“These are all committee assignments I had last year, and I am happy to continue on with them,” Hansen said. “It’s good to keep the momentum going.”

Vice Chair Andy Dance selected five committee assignments for 2023 where he will be the designee, as well as five committees where he will serve as alternate. He will serve on the following committees: Canvassing Board; Early Learning Coalition of Flagler & Volusia County (Governor appointee); Family Life Center; Flagler County Affordable Housing Advisory Committee; School Planning Oversight Committee; and as an alternate for the Flagler County Tourist Development Council; George Washington Carver Center Governance Board; Northeast Florida Regional Council; River to Sea Transportation Planning Organization; and, the Transportation Disadvantaged Local Coordinating Board.

Commissioner David Sullivan will serve on four committees: Flagler County Tourist Development Council; Northeast Florida Regional Council; River to Sea Transportation Planning Organization; and the Transportation Disadvantaged Local Coordinating Board. He also serves as an alternate on three committees: the Canvassing Board; Flagler County Cultural Council; and the School Planning Oversight Committee.

Commissioner Donald O’Brien will serve on five committees: Department of Juvenile Justice Council; Early Learning Coalition of Flagler and Volusia County; Public Safety Coordinating Council; Workforce Development Board of Flagler and Volusia County; and the Library Board of Trustees. He also serves as an alternate on three committees: Department of Juvenile Justice Circuit Advisory Council; Flagler County Affordable Housing Advisory Committee; and the Small County Coalition.

Newly elected Commissioner Leann Pennington will serve on five committees: Department of Juvenile Justice Circuit Advisory Council; Flagler County Cultural Council; George Washington Carver Center Governance Board; Heritage Crossroads Committee; and the Value Adjustment Board. She also serves as an alternate on three committees: Department of Juvenile Justice Council; Family Life Center; and the Workforce Development Board of Flagler and Volusia County.
