January 19, 2023 – Flagler County officials are advising residents that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is to hold a public meeting at 5:30 p.m. January 31 about project plans on State Road A1A from Osprey Drive to a point north of Mariners Drive.

Current project plans are to construct pedestrian improvements and to resurface State Road A1A to extend the life of the roadway. A project information handout has been provided by FDOT (attached).

“The Florida Department of Transportation is holding this public meeting to present information and receive community feedback,” said Flagler County Engineer Faith Alkhatib. “It is important for our residents to participate and provide their input about this project. There is always a lot of collaboration between agencies, because at the end of the day everything is for the benefit of residents.”

FDOT is offering a variety of ways for the community to participate in the meeting. All participants, regardless of which platform they choose, will participate in the same live meeting.

Available platforms are as follows:

  • Virtual Option – those who are interested joining from a computer, tablet, or mobile device should register in advance at https://bit.ly/3UlLLEU. Once registered, participants will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting online. Chrome or Microsoft Edge are the choice internet browsers to register and attend this meeting. Please allow adequate time to logon to view the presentation in its entirety.
  • Phone Option (listen only) – participants may listen to the meeting by dialing 1-866-952-8437 and entering the passcode 200-567-857 when prompted.
  • In-Person Open House Option – participants may attend in person by going to the Hammock Community Center, 79 MalaCompra Road, anytime between 5:30 and 7 p.m. to view a looping presentation and project displays, speak with project team members, and submit comments or questions. If attending in person, please remember to follow all safety and sanitation guidelines. If feeling unwell, please consider attending the meeting virtually or by phone.

All meeting materials, including the presentation, will be available on the project website: www.cflroads.com/project/439124-1 before the meeting.

FDOT is sending notices to nearby property owners, business owners, organizations, and other interested people to provide the opportunity to offer comments and express their views about this project and the proposed improvements.
