Flagler County Land Management will be supporting an International Coastal Cleanup event being held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday (September 16) at the River-to-Sea Preserve in the Town of Marineland and encourages the community to support the effort. The event is hosted by the University of Florida in cooperation with the Guana-Tolomato-Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve.

“I am happy to be participating and picking up trash,” said Public Lands & Natural Resource Manager Michael Lagasse. “The International Coastal Cleanup engages people from around the world to remove trash from the world’s beaches and waterways and it’s great to be a part of that.”

“Event Here” signs will be posted on State Road A1A.

“Bring gloves if you need them,” said Florida Department of Environmental Protection Program Administrator Scott Eastman. “Bags, ‘grabbers,’ and water will be supplied.”

Arrive at 9741 Oceanshore Boulevard (State Road A1A), Marineland, at 9 a.m. to help clean up Flagler County waterways.
