Flagler County Land Management is hosting the fifth in its limited guided tour series (limited in the number of participants and frequency) called a “A Walk in the Park in the Woods.”

This tour takes place at 8:30 a.m. sharp on November 15 at the Graham Swamp Conservation Area and is limited to eight (8) registrants. Participants who register – and sign the two waivers: liability and photo/video release – will meet at the Graham Swamp Lehigh Trailhead off Colbert Lane north of Harbor View Drive in Palm Coast.

“The 3000-plus acres of the Graham Swamp Conservation Area are among the last intact areas of Atlantic coastal swamp forest in Florida. Our walk will focus on experiencing the broad variety of plants and animals found in this increasingly rare habitat,” said Forestry Supervisor Ralph Risch. “Wintering songbirds will be of particular prominence, so bring a pair of binoculars.”

Those who are participating should:

  • Expect a two-hour hike over uneven ground
  • Wear closed-toe shoes
  • Bring water, sunscreen, and insect repellent
  • Bring binoculars

Additional recommendations include:

  • Bring a hat and raincoat
  • Bring a trail snack
