On January 25, 2024, at approximately 7:20 p.m., Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputies received information from Osceola County Sheriff’s Office that a suspect in their child kidnapping case was spotted checking into the Microtel Hotel in Palm Coast.

Upon arrival, deputies confirmed that Crystal Williams, 37, had checked into a room on the third floor. After making contact with the suspect, they located the 3-year-old child who appeared unharmed. Williams was detained and later arrested while the child was safely returned to her mother.

“Through a thorough and coordinated response by our deputies and Osceola deputies, this child abduction ended quickly and happily with the child being safely reunited with her mother,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “In this case, the suspect fled into the wrong county not knowing that we coordinate closely with other law enforcement agencies, and she found herself in the Green Roof Inn.”

Williams was arrested on an Osceola County Warrant for Interference with Child Custody. She is currently being held at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility pending transfer to Osceola County.
