Stormi is a newer addition to the SMART family, one who has suffered terribly with medical issues due to being dumped in a rural area and left to fend for herself. Stormi was diagnosed with demodectic mange, secondary skin infections, ear infections, open bleeding wounds from itching, roundworms, hookworms, and fluid in her abdomen and lungs. Despite these horrible conditions and being dumped, this pup is incredibly full of love.
East Coast Animal Hospital is taking care of Stormi’s treatments, but the road to recovery is long and expensive. Stormi was left on the side of the road in terrible shape, and needs the help of everyone around her to make her comeback. Thanks to Dr Erika Equizi of Premier Chiropractic, who has stepped up to be Stormi’s medical foster, Stormi has been able to make incredible strides in her recovery journey.
“It’s been a few years since I’ve been involved in rescue, but this sweet girl stole my heart the instant I saw her picture. Thank you to Caroline Johnson and Shara Brodsky for all they do with SMART, and giving this amazing animals a chance at having a great life,” Dr Erika told us when asked why she chose to foster Stormi.
