On August 18, 2024, Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) responded to 2027 Laurel Avenue, Bunnell about a stolen vehicle. It began as a call of a suspicious vehicle blocking traffic on Holly Lane near Mahogany Blvd. On scene, deputies found the vehicle unoccupied and a man acting suspiciously nearby. Due to the actions of the man, deputies watched the vehicle from a distance.

After a short time, the man, later identified as Brandon A. Partain, was seen driving the vehicle and deputies attempted a traffic stop. Partain didn’t immediately stop but drove to the back of the property at 2027 Laurel Ave and then exited the vehicle.

During questioning, Partain admitted he did not have a valid license. Deputies ordered the suspect to place his hands behind his back to be secured pending further investigation. As deputies attempted to place handcuffs on the suspect he fled from deputies.

Deputies gave the suspect commands to stop but the suspect ran around the home and back to his vehicle and fled in the car. The vehicle was located in a pond unoccupied on Coconut Blvd. Deputies set up a perimeter to search for the suspect. A witness contacted FCSO about a man running through her yard near the area of Ash St. and Canal Ave. During a search of the area, discarded boots were found in a ditch along with a pair of socks nearby.

Fire Flight, AirOne, and the FCSO Drone were dispatched to the area to locate the suspect. During the search, another witness contacted FCSO about a shirtless, barefoot man running through his yard in the area of Water Oak Rd. Deputies quickly set up a perimeter and the suspect was apprehended without further incident.

The suspect was arrested for Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Fleeing with Disregard of Safety Person/Property, Obstruction without Violence, Driving while License Suspended, and for being a Fugitive from Justice. He was wanted for drug possession in Georgia.

“Thanks to ‘See Something, Say Something’ we were able to catch this fugitive of the law,” says Sheriff Rick Staly. “No matter where you break the law, if you do it in Flagler County our deputies will catch you and make sure you have a place behind bars in the Green Roof Inn.”
