Flagler County Economic Development Department in September hosted industry leaders from seven Northeast Florida counties for the JaxUSA Regional Partnership quarterly meeting and arranged for a tour of Gioia Sails South to boot.

“It was such an honor to host this meeting and wonderful to be able to showcase a Flagler County manufacturing success story,” said Economic Development Manager Dolores Key. “Patrick Moynihan, a Gioia Sales South partner, graciously showed us around the 50,000 square foot light manufacturing plant.”

Gioia Sails – originally established in the mid-60s in New England – opened its Palm Coast location in 2007. While it started with fewer than 10 employees, the company expanded operations in its 17 years in Flagler County and now employs more than 100 people.

“The purpose of the JaxUSA Regional Partnership meeting is to bring the members together to compare notes, learn about regional economic trends, and gather information about initiatives that affect economic development efforts statewide,” Key said. “There is no better way to kickstart those discussions than touring a company, like Gioia Sails, which takes pride in being the number one yacht and boat outfitter for interior and exterior canvas solutions for both commercial clients and private owners.”
