Thursday, October 24, 2024 – Palm Coast Fire Department welcomes a new station to the Seminole Woods area.

Station 26, known as “The South Side” station, has been in mind since 2005. With the 5 million dollar budget they were given, they plan on making this station respond quicker and more efficiently than before. “This would’ve been our third busiest station today and our busiest five years ago. The reason we want to celebrate is somebody is going to get to eat for Thanksgiving dinners with their family,” said Palm Coast Fire Chief Kyle Berryhill.

Mayor Alfin would go on to say, “This moment is, in fact, a once-in-a-lifetime moment.” This station will be the newest fire station in over two decades. “This new station will serve approximately seven thousand households and three thousand calls annually!” He also said. Every station has its unique logo, and in this case, firefighter Gunner Pimperton got to design station 26’s very own logo. The gator in the logo was originally on the patch for the Palm Coast Fire District in 1973. This fire station will be a great contribution to the City of Palm Coast, not only to the Firefighters themselves but to the community. This Fire station will benefit anyone, young or old, which is why it is an amazing achievement for this city.
