It’s that time of the year again, the Friends of the Library are hosting their Annual Fall Book and Bake Sale with a Car show at the Palm Coast Library on November 9th, from 9:30 to 2:30. The Friends of the Library will host four book and bake sales a year, one in the spring, summer, fall, and winter. If you missed their summer event, mark your calendars to attend the Fall sale.

Over 30 bakers will be selling their baked goods, and the Friends of the Library will be selling puzzles, books, CDs, DVDs, and even magazines. The books, puzzles, and other items listed above are donated throughout the year to the Friends of the Library. To donate items for their book and bake sales, you can bring your books, puzzles, CDs, DVDs, and magazines to the library every Tuesday from 1-4 pm, every Thursday from 10:15-1:15 pm, and on the first Saturday of the month between 10-1 pm.

The book and bake sales that the Friends of the Library holds pay for the programs at the library for the kids, vets, and the community at large. Many of the programs offered by the local Library are funded through the Friends of the Library and their book and bake sales, as well as their used book store. The “Ye Old Book Store,” located at the front of the library, generates roughly $1,000 over a month to help support the community programs at the library.

Friends of the Library is a volunteer organization with 220 members, which they are continuously trying to grow. To learn more about the Friends of the Library, head out to the Fall Book and Bake sale and check them out. If you miss the upcoming fall fundraiser, there will be another one in the winter months.
