Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputies made 21 arrests this past weekend between 6 p.m. on Friday, November 8, 2024, and 6 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. Deputies handled 1,023 calls for service and made 186 traffic stops.
Felon just released from Volusia Co. Jail threatens family members and FCSO deputies
On November 9, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home on Shadow Lane in Ormond Beach about a man, later identified as Andrew Williams, 35, of Ormond Beach, threatening to kill family members and wrecking the residence.
Once deputies arrived at the home, they found a couple locked out of their home by Williams. The couple told deputies Williams was released from the Volusia County Jail on November 8, walked to their home barefoot, and asked to stay until he could get a ride the next day. The couple said that when Williams’ ride didn’t show up, he became erratic and aggressive.
FCSO deputies used a patrol vehicle’s public address system to direct Williams to exit the home and surrender. After several attempts, the homeowners gave deputies a garage door opener, and deputies entered the house and attempted to arrest him. During the arrest, Williams began thrashing, kicking, and attempting to spit on deputies. One deputy received a minor cut to his arm from Williams resisting.
Williams was arrested for Trespassing with Failure to Leave Upon Order by Owners; Resisting Officers with Violence – Aggravated Assault; Obstruction Without Violence; Burglary of an Occupied Dwelling; Battery on an Officer, Firefighter, or EMT; Threat with Death/Bodily Harm to Family Member or Law Enforcement Officer; and Criminal Mischief – Over $1,000. Williams was taken to the hospital for medical evaluation and then transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where he is being held on no bond.
Williams was previously arrested on November 2 in Volusia County for Disorderly Conduct and released on November 3. On that same day, he was arrested again in Volusia County for Criminal Mischief (Above $200 but below $1000) and released on November 8.
“This guy has a long history of arrests in Volusia County and decided to bring his nonsense to Flagler County, threatening deputies and his own family,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “He learned quickly the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office doesn’t put up with that behavior and he now has a room at the Green Roof Inn.”

Felon Arrested for Leaving Two Separate Crashes
On November 9, FCSO responded to two hit-and-run crashes near Old Kings Road and Oak Trails Boulevard in Palm Coast.
Deputies tracked the driver, Jared Douglas, 22, of Palm Coast, to his home on Blare Castle Drive. When deputies approached the house, Douglas fled on foot. A perimeter was set up by responding deputies and, with the help of watchful citizens, he was quickly apprehended.
Douglas was arrested for two counts of Leaving the Scene of a Crash involving Damage to Property, Obstruction without Violence, and Violation of Probation. He was transported to the SPHIDF and is being held on no bond.
In January 2021, Douglas was arrested for Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon.
“If this guy would have just stopped at the scene of the first crash, he would not have been arrested,” said Sheriff Staly. “Instead, he decided to run, got involved in another crash, and, on top of it all, thought he could outrun deputies when they arrived at his home. Because of his bad decisions, he’s getting an extended stay at the Green Roof Inn.”
