Interested in providing meaningful input to the Flagler County Board of County Commissioners? There are a variety of citizen advisory boards that have openings that will appeal to a variety of individual interests.
“These advisory boards play a crucial role in shaping decisions that affect our community, public services, and overall quality of life,” said County Administrator Heidi Petito. “Serving on an advisory board is not only a rewarding way to contribute, but it also offers a chance to collaborate with others who are equally passionate about making a difference.”
There are open positions on the following advisory boards that provide recommendations to the Board of County Commissions:
- Contract Review Board – one roofer contractor needed
- Parks and Recreation – two open positions
- Land Acquisition Committee – one open position
- Library Board of Trustees – one open position
Additionally, the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (AHAC), which makes recommendations to the Flagler County Board of County Commissioners and the City of Palm Coast, is seeking to fill open vacancies.

Finally, for those looking to enter the ground floor of something big – the newly formed Flagler County Industrial Development Authority (IDA) – there will be an informational meeting at 9 a.m. February 6 (Thursday) at the Flagler County Tourism Office Conference Room, 120 Airport Road, 3rd Floor, Palm Coast. Attendees are asked to RSVP to Dolores Key at dkey@flaglercounty.gov.
Those interested in being considered for board appointment are asked to complete and submit an application by February 15 to the Board of County Commissioners. Applications are available on the county website at https://www.flaglercounty.gov/departments/economic-development/.
