By-Line: Shelly Edmonson, Flagler Tax Collector

Residents are now able to replace their statewide concealed weapon license at the office of the Flagler County Tax Collector’s Office Flagler Beach Branch.

Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Wilton Simpson partnered with Florida Tax Collectors to pass legislation that extends this opportunity to all residents of Flagler County and the State of Florida.

“I am pleased to offer this service to all Florida residents. Our team is ready to assist you with your replacement licenses, renewals, and new applications. You do not need an appointment; just stop by our Flagler Beach Office. We are happy to help,” Tax Collector Shelly Edmonson said.

In 2014, Tax Collector Offices were given authority to take applications, fingerprint the applicants, and send the information securely to the department for final determination of eligibility. Tax  Collector Offices also offer renewal concealed weapon license services. Florida has more than 2.4 million concealed weapon licenses, and the department processed more than  100,000 applications for new permits last fiscal year. To date, FDACS has partnered with fifty-six  Tax Collectors to provide concealed weapon license services.

“We are pleased to be able to expand our partnership with Tax Collectors to make it easier and more convenient for Floridians to receive concealed weapon license services and exercise their  Second Amendment rights,” Commissioner Simpson said.
