On March 26, 2025, Flagler County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested Dasani Ford, 25, of Daytona Beach, for sexually assaulting a minor.
FCSO detectives from the Major Case Unit began their investigation on November 13, 2024, after responding to a local hospital to investigate a sexual assault that occurred just days earlier involving Ford and a juvenile victim.
During the investigation, detectives learned that on November 8, 2024, Ford drove the victim from a McDonald’s in Palm Coast to Target so that she could purchase for a friend. Upon leaving the store, Ford drove the victim to an undeveloped area near Magnolia Point and Mulberry Road, where the sexual assault occurred, before dropping her off at a Panda Express. Detectives also learned that Ford had engaged in a consensual sexual relationship with the victim several months before this incident.
Based on the evidence, detectives obtained a warrant for Ford’s arrest on March 25 for Unlawful Sexual Activity with a Minor. Under Florida law, a person who is 24 years of age or older who engages in sex with a person 16 or 17 years of age commits a second-degree felony that is punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
“I want to commend this young lady on speaking up about this incident and reporting it to law enforcement,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “Let this also be a warning to sexual predators who think they can victimize our youth: We will catch you, just like we caught this dirtbag.”
Ford was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where he is being held on a $50,000 bond for Sexual Assault by 24 Years of Age or Older, Victim 16 or 17 Years of Age.
