Convicted Sex Offender Arrested for Failure to Register

On Friday, detectives from the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office Major Case Unit began investigating a tip involving a convicted sex offender possibly living at an unlicensed daycare facility. Detectives later determined that Thomas Carl Riggs, 42, of Bunnell, was living at a different location than previously reported and hadn’t registered his change of address for several months. As a result, detectives obtained a warrant for his arrest.

Riggs was arrested for Failure of a Sex Offender to Properly Register and Violation of Probation. He was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where he is being held without bond.

“We have zero tolerance for sex offenders,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “This pervert thought he could fly under the radar by not registering as required by law. If you fail to comply with the law, our deputies will put you exactly where you belong, in the Green Roof Inn.”

Convicted Felon Arrested for DUI and Possession

On Saturday, a Flagler County Sheriff’s deputy arrested a bicyclist in Palm Coast for DUI and Possession.

Eric Aycock-Blanford, 43, of Palm Coast, was stopped for riding his bicycle without a rear light during night hours. During the stop, Aycock-Blanford smelled of alcohol and failed a field sobriety test. Upon further investigation, deputies found a bag with prescription pills inside a bag attached to his bicycle.

Aycock-Blanford was arrested for Possession Controlled Substance, DUI, Possession of a Harmful New Legend Drug Without a Prescription, and Felony Violation of Probation. He was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where he is being held without bond.

“This guy biking intoxicated in the dark was a danger to himself and others on the roads,” said Sheriff  Staly. “He had no regard for the conditions of his probation and now earned himself a new visit to the Green Roof Inn to rethink his choices. Bottom line, don’t drink and drive or ride impaired because we will catch you and arrest you.”
