The Professional Women of Flagler County(PWFC) is a local networking group comprised of mainly women here in Flagler County. Every year they hold a small business expo, where local small businesses can come and set up booths, and interact with other companies and the public that attends. This year, they held their expo at the Southern Recreation Center on Belle Terre Parkway, and PWFC board members praised this year’s successful event.
Former PWFC president Nina explained, “I would say we’ve doubled in not only vendors but also people that have attended today, so very successful. Proceeds from today go to the go-girl grant, and we have raised $1,800, thanks to all of the vendors that have participated today, and it’s free to the public. It’s an annual event, and we love this location. This is the first time being here. Hopefully, they’ll have us back next year. It’s a great space, we have over 46 vendors.”
Event Director for the PWFC, Kara King, told us, “So this year, the proceeds are going to go to our go-girl grant for professional women of Flagler County. Any woman who is a member can apply and we have $25,000 to give away. The expo has been a huge success this year. In previous years, we had them at different locations, but since we’re here at the Southern Rec Center, we have built-in foot traffic on top of the people we would normally bring in. We have over 40 distributors between downstairs and upstairs, two rooms. It’s been a great success.”
Vendors lined two rooms upstairs with some even set up in the spaces between the rooms, some vendors were also present downstairs as well. To find out more about the Professional Women of Flagler County, visit their website here.
