The City Administration has decided to relieve the Utility Director, Amanda Rees, of her duties. As she was still within her probationary period, this decision was based on performance and the determination that she did not meet the expectations required to complete probation.

Rees was originally hired earlier this summer, after moving from Houston to work here in Palm Coast. She was still within her probationary period, which was to last six months.

According to the letters from the City Administration, Rees was relieved of her duties for supposed demeaning and aggressive behavior towards Utility Staff.

We spoke to multiple Utility Staff workers outside of City Hall, who wish to remain unnamed. The staff we spoke to praised her for her diligence, and her efforts to fix issues within the department.

With Rees relieved of her duties, the City Administration will now have to start the search for a new Utility Director to fill the position. Where the City Administration will look remains unknown.
