This last weekend the FCSO made 20 arrests, 3 DUI’s, handled 981 calls for service, and made 267 traffic stops.
“The start of Bike Week brought a busy weekend for FCSO,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “Deputies conducted a traffic detail on Sunday focused on SR100 between I-95 and Flagler Beach and US1 to deter speeding and other dangerous driving behaviors during Bike Week. The enforcement resulted in 18 Traffic Stops, 1 Verbal Warning, 15 Written Warnings, 3 Uniform Traffic Citations, 3 Criminal Citations, and 1 Arrest for narcotics and driving with license suspended.”
On Sunday Morning, the Palm Coast Lanes bowling alley because an unruly customer tried to attack the bartender behind the bar. The female was escorted out of the bowling alley and was found outside when deputies arrived. The female attacker was identified as Jennifer Sorrentino. She was found on security footage, attacking the bartender with a bottle. Sorrentino kept trying to hit and pull the bartenders hair until separated.
Sorrentino was arrested and charged with battery – Simple, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and Disorderly Intoxication. She made severe verbal threats to the deputies and was further charged with Threats with Death, Serious Bodily Harm Towards Law Enforcement. She was released after posting the $14,000 bond.
Sergeant Edmonds noted a black Nissan early Sunday morning headed North on US-1, and attempted a traffic stop due to no visible taillights. The vehicle refused to stop and fled the deputy. Bunnell PD assisted the chase with Stop Sticks and deflated a tire on the vehicle. The vehicle continued to flee as the tire began to fall apart and the car stopped in the median near US-1 and Belle Terre BLVD. The driver was identified as Pelfrene St. Fort of Orlando and he was found to be on Felony Probation for Unlawful Use of a Two -Way Communications Device. St. Fort was arrested and charged with Fleeing/Eluding Law Enforcement with Lights and Siren Activiated, Reckless Driving, Resisting an Officer Without Violence, and Violation of Probation. He is being held with no bond.
Saturday night, Deputy Dorsey made a traffic stop on a vehicle, when the deputy turned his lights on, the driver took an extended period of time to pull over. Deputies made contact with the occupants and could smell the odor of marijuana, and a can of alcohol was seen on the floor board, and all three occupants were under the age of 21. The deputies were able to make a search of the car based on parable cause, and found a 12 pack of Twisted Tea, several liqour bottles and 104.3 grams of marijuana packed in baggies labeled for sale. The driver was identified as Aaron Roberson, and was arrested for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia/Equipment. Roberson is being held on a $6,000 bond. The other occupants were released and all alcohol was confiscated and destroyed.
