April 28th, 2023, at roughly 3:30 am, FCSO responded to the Shell Gas Station on SR100 in regards to a robbery. The reporting party stated that a black male came into the store and demanded all of the money in the register. He alluded to having a gun, but never showed the weapon. He left with roughly $90 in cash and other items.
FCSO’s Real Time Crime Center was able to determine that the suspect’s vehicle went from SR100 and then got on to the Northbound lanes of I-95. The vehicle was seen on I-95 in St. John’s County and was pursued by Florida Highway Patrol and the St. John’s Sheriff’s Office, the Jacksonville’s Sheriff’s Office, and the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office on I-95 until he crossed the Florida-Georgia line. Once over the state line, Camden County Sheriff’s Office took over pursuit.
The Kingsland Police Department was able to use their Stop Sticks on the vehicle on I-95 and once the vehicle stopped the suspect fled on foot. He entered a nearby store and brandished his weapon and demanded the keys to the clerks car. He took the car and attempted to flee but crashed through the front of the store; he exited the vehicle and chased the clerk and a customer through the store, causing a struggle.
The clerk who was then armed shot the suspect roughly 8 times, according to Georgia authorities. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the hospital. The suspect was identified as Qwinntavus Kwame Jordan and is currently in critical condition.
This is an active and ongoing investigation that involved multiple agencies including the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

If he survives his injuries, he should spend a long time in prison.”
