On Monday night, a fugitive from Colorado was arrested by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) in Palm Coast.

Deputy Harrison conducted a traffic stop on Matthew J. Ko after he failed to stop at a red light before turning onto Palm Coast Parkway. He was also driving with an inoperable headlight and without a valid driver’s license.

During the traffic stop, Deputy Harrison determined that Ko had a warrant for his arrest with nationwide extradition from El Paso County, Colorado. Ko was wanted for Forgery of Checks. After the warrant was confirmed by FCSO’s Communications Center, Deputy Harrison arrested Ko for being a Fugitive of Justice and took him to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility where he will be held for extradition to Colorado. He is being held on no bond.

“If you think you can hide out in Flagler County, think again,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “We have eyes everywhere and work closely with other agencies to make sure every criminal, no matter where they come from, is quickly taken off the streets. We will find you. Great job by Deputy Harrison for being proactive.”
