A post was made in the Flagler Beach For Friends Facebook group regarding an abandoned dog named Stella who was in dire need of a home. The owner decided to move and left Stella behind. Dee Deegan’s neighbor took Stella in. However, the apartment complex where Dee and her neighbor lived was posted for sale. The sale closed 2 weeks after being placed on the market. The new owner told Dee’s neighbor that they were not allowed to have three dogs.
The mission began to find Stella a new home. No shelters would take her, stating that they were full or that she would be euthanized. Dee posted everywhere she could think of online. Several others shared the posts in hopes of finding Stella a new home.
Dee announced on August 30, “I am so happy to announce that today Stella went to the most amazing people in the world! It was like bringing Stella to HEAVEN!! From the moment we drove through their security gate around 5 pm, we passed 6 deer in a yard, 3 turkeys crossing the street, huge beautiful houses and instant love from her new parents! We completely believe that Stella will be loved and spoiled like she deserves! Her story is completely heartbreaking but her journey has landed her in the best place possible and with a new brother Ronin! So much love for these people!”
